Women* Drummers International is Happy to Announce:
BORN TO DRUM 2019: SEEDS OF OUR FREEDOM
JOIN US THIS SUMMER TO CAMP, OR COME FOR THE DAY …
Happening at beautiful Bort Meadow in Chabot Regional Park
Oakland, Ca. (pls pull down menu ‘camp information’ for directions)
Born to Drum was birthed as a reunion of women drummers from all over the US and from all over the world. This will be the 14th year that we gather to celebrate culture; to make new friends and rejoice at being with old friends. We come together in community to drum, to share music, art, our stories, healing and women’s medicine with each other. Join us! Click here to Register!
We have lots of Non-Drumming Classes
We welcome women to come who do not drum, or don’t want to drum all day! The non-drumming classes will include: hands on healing circles, poetry writing, the Mother Peace tarot cards, spirit-sound meditation, art classes, grandmother’s council circle, social justice alliance building, herbal medicine, altar making medicine, yoga, embodied movement, dance classes, singing classes and more.
We will also have the Kids Camp this summer. We will have a kids canopy, play items, and activities for our children this year. Bring your kids! Boys are welcome – 10 years old and under.
Work Study is OPEN!
Work-study is available for women who would like to attend camp but can’t afford full camp fees. Work-study tickets are available for $20 to $0 each day. BTD values and depends on your work offering. This year, work study is available in four areas. The Work Study program helps us to make Born to Drum accessible to all women. Hundreds of women have attended Born to Drum through work study since the start of Born to Drum in 2006. Some of the tasks for work/study women are listed under the main menu item BTD Camp information. If you would like to register for Work/Study please contact Ngaire at: firstname.lastname@example.org
